PROGRAM (PRELIMINARY)
Symposium
Saturday, September 28 12:00 – 16:00
Research within the arts, done by artists through their practice has developed into a varied field with interdisciplinary, mixed-method approach. Artists are developing and using completely new methods, as well as using scientific methods in combinations with fantastic ones. This exciting part of the research is often unseen and covered by the artwork.
Moving beyond the emphasis on output and aesthetic, in this symposium we are only interested in the method and methodology.
We leave everything behind that remains from our ego, and our self-image, as well as the necessity to be someone, to represent something, and the pressure to be constantly new and innovative for innovations sake.
We want to take a pathological view on methods employed by artists. We want to do it with respect, and with honesty. We hope by giving this space to you, we will all be able to talk about what really matters: methods.
